“The CZ300 is clad in a treated 16A waterproof cotton canvas exterior for moisture resistance and improved durability. This is not a shiny nylon or ballistic synthetic shell; ddHiFi has opted for a textured, retro inspired fabric that gives a tactile and understated feel. It’s cotton canvas and of very high quality. There’s a subtle patina effect on the surface, giving it a superior, usable character rather than a clinically technical look.
Structurally, the outer shell is reinforced with rigid resin panels embedded in the side walls; a significant difference from the soft EVA construction commonly found in cases of similar size.
I think the real difference became apparent in the compression test: the CZ300 maintained its structural geometry even under moderate vertical pressure. It was with me constantly on my Sweden – Turkey trip and protected all my IEMs. For users carrying heavier DAPs, balanced DACs/amplifiers, or metal bodied accessories, I think this rigidity is important. I sometimes carried my giant XD05 Pro dac amp inside the CZ300 on my travels, but now I’ve bought a separate dd HiFi CZ200 shoulder bag for it. I’m much more comfortable now.
The stitching on the CZ300 was a particular area that caught my attention. Reinforced multi thread stitching is used, particularly in stress bearing areas around the handle attachment points. The handle itself is not only sewn to the fabric but also secured to the side structure using riveted reinforcement points. This significantly reduces the risk of long term failure under load. I think it will remain robust for many years if it continues like this.”
