Below are excerpts from the review:
“The M198C has a neutral sound, only very slightly warm, which keeps it from being analytical. I tested it with ddHiFi Surface and Dunu DN-242.
The M198C bass is controlled and there’s no mid-bass bloat, while sub-bass extension remains linear and doesn’t roll off. The DN242 has crazy deep bass and I could fully experience this with the M198C.
The midrange has a satisfying density that adds weight to vocals without veering into “thick” territory. Treble is clean and extended, without any artificial “shimmer” or “etch”. It’s a fatigue-free presentation, but is still rich of microdetails.
Soundstaging capabilities are very good, both in terms of placement and in terms of width, and the recording can expand surprisingly wide, even if within IEM limits.”
