Eyx Review Excerpts:
“At first glance, the Eryx OFC gives the impression of a premium product. The four wire braid has a solid and high quality look without appearing excessively bulky. This cable seems to have managed to strike a perfect balance between durability and comfort.
The hybrid conductor design combines four different materials, each chosen for a specific purpose. Copper based conductors provide body and tonal richness, while silver and gold plated elements aim to maintain speed, detail, and high frequency extension.
One of the most attractive aspects of the Eryx is its hardware. The combination of Red Sandalwood and titanium alloy creates a distinctive look that sets it apart from the sea of polished metal cable designs currently dominating the market. The craftsmanship is of the usual dd HiFi quality, with exceptional, precise tolerances, a smooth finish, and beautiful wood grain patterns that make each unit unique.
Despite its flagship build, the Eryx is extremely comfortable. The cable sits naturally around the ears, exhibits very low microphonic interference, and never feels bulky during extended listening sessions. The Japanese made Pentaconn gold plated OFC plug deserves special mention. Connection with the balanced output of the Sony NW ZX507 was reassuring throughout the review period.”
